Who we are
A carpentry-led building team
MEK Homes started as a small carpentry operation in Melbourne's inner east. Ten years and 150+ projects later, we're still the same tight-knit team — just with a longer list of happy homeowners.
We cover new homes, renovations and extensions, right through to decking, pergolas and the fine finishing carpentry in between. Because the carpentry is ours, we can take a job from footings to the last architrave without handing it to anyone else — and we coordinate every other trade so you never have to chase one.
We've grown on word of mouth rather than advertising, which is the only endorsement that has ever mattered in this trade.
From first call to handover
How a job runs
Six stages, and you deal with the same carpenter through all of them. No project manager in between, no handover to a crew you haven't met.
First call
Tell us the suburb and what you're picturing. Ten minutes tells us both whether we're the right builder for the job.
Site visit
We measure, photograph and check the things that move a price — access, footings, overlays and wet areas.
Fixed quote
Every cost itemised upfront — what we quote is what you pay. Yours to keep, no obligation.
Contract & permits
HIA contract, building surveyor, engineering and council. We lodge it and we chase it.
On site
One carpenter leads the job from first cut to last coat, with photos and what's next each week.
Handover
Final walkthrough, defect list closed, warranty documents in your hands. We come back at twelve months to check the joints.
